Dr. Jillian Casey, ND, MPH, IFMCP

My primary goal as a doctor is to hold space for patients where they can feel safe, be heard, and increase their own awareness of factors acting on their wellbeing. I trained in naturopathic medicine so that I could work within a model that respects the critical importance of time: time within visits to explore the layers of your health; and time between visits to implement lifestyle changes and treatments that do more than suppress symptoms. I value my training in nutrition, physical medicine, and herbal medicine alongside my training in pharmaceuticals, IV therapy, and other "high force" interventions. There is a place for each of these modalities and patients should not be limited to choosing between conventional and natural treatments. My intention is to use high force interventions when indicated for initial support and relief while committing to the deeper work required to address imbalances that destabilize our health.

Prior to medical school, I earned a masters degree in public health and worked in HIV prevention at the local, state, and federal level. My training in health behavior informs my approach to medicine as I believe that our best work together can reverberate beyond your individual health, particularly when we address trauma and disrupt cycles that affect multiple generations.

At CIH, I see adult patients of all gender identities. I am so grateful to be part of a team approach where we can share different perspectives to foster patient and provider growth and I look forward to learning alongside you about your health goals and how we can help you reach them. Outside of work, you can often find me sharing a 4-course finger food meal with my young kiddo or exploring local hiking trails with my partner and our two rescue pups. I'm a devout Portland Thorns and US Women's National Team soccer fan and a lifelong Tar Heel.
