Integrative and Functional Medicine
“Health is more than just the absence of disease; it is a vital dynamic state which enables a person to adapt to, and thrive in a wide range of environments.” – Iva Lloyd, ND
My passion lies in partnering with patients to help reveal and address all the complex factors that are at the root of their health and disease. This passion grew after working as a PA in the Emergency Department and witnessing firsthand the endpoints of so many complex disease processes.
I felt compelled to learn how to address developing dysfunction in the body in a holistic way, and help people truly get well. This interest evolved as I became a mother and wanted to learn to better care for myself and my young family.
I went back to school and obtained a masters degree from George Washington University in integrative health and nutrition, and prior to joining CIH practiced as an integrative and functional PA at a practice in Northern VA.
I have a particular interest in gastrointestinal health, hormones, and cardiometabolic health. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, running, traveling, spending time outdoors, and reading.
